It is even more important to observe our breath.

When we observe our breath, we are actually noticing what is happening at that moment. This helps us to develop the skill of mindfulness. Also, the act of focusing on the breath usually slows down breathing patterns, making us feel more relaxed. As we focus on how air moves in and out through our nose. It becomes a form of meditation.                                                                                                                                                                                                Keep Meditating

Meditation Is The Gateway to the right path.

We come across so many Zigsaw puzzles in kids' books, like Help the Rabbit to Reach the Carrot. Which is the lucky cat, who can reach the milk? Fly with the butterfly to the flower. Life is also a zigsaw puzzle of reaching the glowing gate. It is dark all around, and only one door is lit. But before we enter this gate, there are many questions in our minds. Should I enter through this door? It seems well-marked. It can’t be so easy. What is beyond this light? Peace, tranquillity or turmoil. We don’t know which path to take.            Meditation is the lit door, which shows the path, what lies beyond this gate is still unknown. Regular meditation helps us in getting ready to accept whatever comes our way and tread ahead.                                                                                                  Keep Meditating

Meditation Makes us Selfless Volunteers

One aspect of meditation is, it makes us selfless volunteers. Some incidents might have taken place in everyone's life. When we were in need, and from the midst of a crowd, someone walked up to help us. We don't even know him or her, yet he or she helps, without any hesitation or expectation. Such people are rare. At times we also get an urge within us, " I want to be like them". Mother Teresa was one such person. Born on 26 Aug 1910. Her childhood name was Agnes. Agnes was too pious from an early age and committed to charity. At the age of 18, she travelled to India to serve humanity. She looked after people, whom no one was prepared to take care of.  this led to the opening of her first home for dying hospices. and orphanages for abandoned children. Her work expanded to 130 countries. In 1979 she was awarded Nobel Peace Prize." for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress. Quote-- " It is not how much we do, but how much love we pu

Be A Meditator- Let the mind rest and soul talk

Often when we start meditation we start getting insights and start thinking about the insights. We feel it is a good time to solve the problem, as we get insight even more. But it is said that silence is a better way to allow the solution to unfold. Let the mind rest and the soul speaks - during meditation.                                                                  Keep Meditating

Mindfulness Tip: Be Present While Washing Your Hands

Practice building your awareness through small everyday moments. Gradually come out of the realm of thought and into the realm of awareness. Being present leads to the cessation of thought. Meditation can help in enhancing mindfulness.                                                                                                                                                                                           Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- Say yes to new adventures every time you sink into your breath

It may be hard to say yes, but the biggest challenge is usually just having the courage to say yes. We could stay in our comfort zone and keep getting things we have always gotten or we could venture into the lane where the unknown, mysterious, exciting liberating occurs. To gather courage we should try to say 'yes' whenever we sink with our breath.                                                                                                                                                                               Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- The Philosophy of Meditation

According to Swami Veda Bharati, the philosophy of meditation says to find out, not by logic, analysis, or rationalization, not by collecting data and feeding them into a computer Find out by experimenting.  The difference between logic and experiment is when the sun rises there will be light all over the earth facing the sun. Every object will be clearly visible. there will be colours all around. This is logic. By experimenting we realize, that we learn better and faster with the rising sun.                                                                                                                        Keep Meditating

Heaven --Hell and meditation

It is said that 108 defilements or destructive forces exist in our minds. Anger and are amongst those 108. Each of these 108 destructive forces, harms us and causes only ourselves to suffer. When we have peace and compassion in our minds we are experiencing Heaven. Meditate to be in heaven.                                                                                                     Keep Meditating

Meditate Before Taking Important Decisions

Stuck with a difficult decision? Think of your options. Sit in meditation. You will have better clarity when you come out of meditation. Do not set an intention to become clear during meditation. Meditation is best done for the sake of meditation. Clarity will come on its own, either now or faster than without meditation. Keep Meditating

Find Our Authentic selves, by Tuning into Our Breath

Have you observed children wearing a mask and imitating animals? But adults mask themselves forever, imitating their ideals or favourites. When they can't match them, then disappointment creeps in. Every individual is different. We should unmask and find our authentic selves by tuning into our breath.                                                          Keep Meditating

Before any moment, let there be a moment of Meditation

We often think that I wish I had taken a moment off and meditated for a while. In this noisy, restless, bewildering age, there is a great need for quietness of spirit. Silence has immense power to make you feel calm and grounded. Through meditation, you silence your mind and let the soul take control of the moment. There are many benefits of practising meditation. It helps you get started on a positive note by clearing your mind from all negative emotions and thoughts.                                                                                                                                      Keep Meditating

One Flower Sermon by Gautam Buddha to Mahakashyap his principal disciple

There is a story from the life of Buddha and Mahakashyap. One day, Buddha came to the evening sermon with a flower in his hand. It was a special flower, a very rare flower that had bloomed out of season. And the person who found it, turned down the king and the chief minister of the kingdom so that he could give it to Buddha.  Buddha brought the flower to the sermon and instead of speaking, stayed silent. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 2 hours ... even the senior students became confused and frustrated. People who had come to see him from far and wide were confused beyond measure. Why does Buddha not speak? What should we do? Should we speak up? Should we ask him if he does not want to speak today?  Buddha kept looking at the flower. And suddenly a burst of loud laughter was heard ... it was Mahakashyap. He understood that Buddha had been teaching them all to find wisdom in silence, but when he demonstrated it, everyone got frustrated. The paradox made him laugh out loud. Buddha
