How Long should we Meditate

 We are often faced with a question. How long should we meditate? Generally, it is better, we can start meditating at whatever time we are comfortable with and then slowly increase the time. How long should we meditate is a relative factor. If we meditate for too short a time, then we don't derive much benefit. If we meditate for too long, we would feel restless. So regular practice is more important than, the length of time, we meditate.                                                          Keep Meditating

 When we start practising meditation we are like a baby. Try to visualize a small baby trying to learn to walk and talk. Before he starts walking, he tries to get up again and again. Some of them would just refuse to get up. Similarly, when he is learning to talk, any new word he repeats the whole day. In the same way, meditation Takes, time, one has to be patient, and practice over and over. Attune Ourselves to the Breath

                     When we attune ourselves to the breath, the mind becomes empty.  " Mind becomes empty! It has never happened to me." During meditation, thoughts are always crossing our minds. Maybe for some saints, who have meditated for years, a state appears when there are no thoughts. But for a beginner or layman like us. As long as we don't get attached to these thoughts, let them fly off then the mind is as good as an empty mind. Meditation Makes us aware that we are loved

 The boy next door said, "no one loves me." Why does he have such a feeling? Our immediate conclusion is. Maybe he is not talking to anyone. Maybe he is just keeping to himself and not communicating with anyone. He has locked all his feelings.  Everyone wants to be loved. But if we close doors, how will we come to know, what awaits outside the door. If we open the door, and we would realize that there is a stream of love flowing just a  stone throw distance. But one may say, I don't see it. Where is it?  Meditation makes us aware that we are loved. Take the middle Path

Take the middle path even in your meditation. We can avoid extremes of no meditation and extreme meditation (without guidance of a knowledgable person or some deep inner urge)
