Be A Meditator- Time spent in the flow state, without fear of outcome is meditation

Think of a situation when a person takes a jump from a cliff. He is beyond the thought of breaking his bones. When an individual is walking on a rope, he is above his fear of falling. For a rafter, the foremost thought is to go with the stream. Time spent in the flow state, without fear of outcome is Meditation. However, the most common position for meditation is the Lotus position ( with the thumb touching the tip of the index finger to form a circle and the remaining fingers stretched out firmly)                                                                                                           Keep Meditation

Be A Meditator- The most important moment is now

Did you ever hear a trapeze artist saying 'Now'? no, but when they are in action,  now is the most important time. It's now or never. The most important person is the person who left the trapeze to be caught by the other artist                                                                                                                                We seldom experience regret for anything that we have done. It is generally what we haven't done (missed opportunity) that torments us. So let's 'live' in the present moment wisely and earnestly.                                                                                       Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- Meditate to wear out interfering thoughts

It is said that during meditation thoughts come and go. But what can we do with the interfering thoughts which appear when we are not meditating? We can not force these thoughts from not being there or from not appearing again and again. If we try to push away anything by force, then many a time it bounces back with double force.  Then what do we do? Meditation can help us to wear out these thoughts. When we are caught up in such a tricky situation, if we snatch out some time to meditate, we will find that these disturbing thoughts will start dissolving.                                                                                   Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- No Future, no past, all is now moment

Imagine a situation. A football match is going on, and the goalkeeper is all set in the middle of the goalpost to save the goal. and then suddenly the ball just goes past him. A shout from the spectators 'Goal !' and from the other end, oh no! as no one expected him to miss the ball. What might have happened? Was he thinking about the previous match or the next league match that was forthcoming? We need to train our minds not to indulge in the past or future, just be present in the now moment. Meditation can help us to learn to be in the present moment                                                                                                                                                Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- Meditation can turn the emotions of anger into a great success

Anger is a much-talked-about human emotion. If it is bottled up then it can consume our love, rationality, and emotional and physical health. if we direct the heat of anger towards others, it destroys everything in the path of friendships, work relationships, marriage, and family.
Physiologically anger includes a two-stage jolt. The first stage is the surge of Adrenaline which lasts for a few minutes but energizes the body for immediate action. (fight or Flight)
The second surge of Catecholamines lasts longer, from a few hours to days. This is what can be used by sportspersons, mountaineers, divers, and army personnel to convert their actions into great success. So long as we control the anger we feel and don't let it control us, success is around the corner. Meditation can turn the emotions of anger into a great success.                                                                                                                                                              Keep Meditating

Be A Meditator- The Philosophy of Meditation

According to Swami Veda Bharati, the philosophy of meditation says to find out, not by logic, analysis, or rationalization, not by collecting data and feeding them into a computer But to find out by experimenting.

The difference between logic and experiment is when the sun rises there will be light all over the earth facing the sun. Every object will be clearly visible. there will be colours all around, This is logic. By experimenting we realize, that we learn better and faster with the rising sun.                                                                                                                     Keep Meditating

Asalha Puja--going round the temple with candles

Asalha puja also called Dhamma day. It takes place on the full moon day of the eighth lunar month Ashar which generally falls in July. This year it is on 20 July 2024. Asalha Puja is a Theravada Buddhist festival and is celebrated in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar. On this day people go round the temple holding candles in their hands. On this day, Buddha gave his first sermon the " sermon in Deer Park " at Sarnath after his enlightenment. The first sermon is also referred to as " setting into motion the wheel of dhamma", for the benefit, happiness, and liberation of countless beings.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Keep Meditating

One Flower Sermon by Gautam Buddha to Mahakashyap his principal disciple

There is a story from the life of Buddha and Mahakashyap. One day, Buddha came to the evening sermon with a flower in his hand. It was a special flower, a very rare flower that had bloomed out of season. And the person who found it, turned down the king and the chief minister of the kingdom so that he could give it to Buddha.

Buddha brought the flower to the sermon and instead of speaking, stayed silent. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 2 hours ... even the senior students became confused and frustrated. People who had come to see him from far and wide were confused beyond measure. Why does Buddha not speak? What should we do? Should we speak up? Should we ask him if he does not want to speak today?

Buddha kept looking at the flower. And suddenly a burst of loud laughter was heard ... it was Mahakashyap. He understood that Buddha had been teaching them all to find wisdom in silence, but when he demonstrated it, everyone got frustrated. The paradox made him laugh out loud. Buddha then invited Mahakashyap to the fore of the gathering and gave him the flower.  Mahakashyap became its first steward.
The flower sermon is the story of the origin of Zen Buddhism in which Gautam Buddha transmits direct wisdom to the disciple Mahakashyapa.

Four types of Lotus in Buddism

The lotus flower is invested with profound significance in Buddhism. It is thought to be the only plant that simultaneously produces both flower (cause) and seed pod (effect). This unique trait is used to indicate the Buddhist principle of simultaneity of cause and effect.

Four types of lotus have great significance in Buddhism. They represent different levels of spirituality.

1. WHITE LOTUS --The white lotus represents mental purity and spiritual perfection.

2. RED LOTUS -- The red lotus is the symbol of love and compassion.

3. BLUE LOTUS --The blue lotus represents wisdom and intelligence and is always pictured partially open.

4. GOLD LOTUS -- A gold lotus represents the achievement of complete enlightenment.                                                                          KEEP MEDITATING

Be A Meditator-Meditate to improve relationship

Sometimes in the journey of life, we may come across someone who is nice and caring. We go all for him/her. Then one day, maybe due to some reason the dear one doesn't pay attention. We feel lonesome and dejected. What type of thoughts cross our mind? something like, "I want attention." or "Maybe we should reconsider this relationship". At such junctures meditation provides clarity.                                                                                                            Keep Meditating

Thailand cave rescue, how meditation helped the boys survive

On 12 July 2018,                                                                                                                                           12 boys and their coach were rescued from the Tham Luang Nang Non cave complex in Thailand. The boys were there for 9 days before being rescued. What kept them alive?

Their coach, 25-year-old Ekkapol Chantawong had been taught meditation at a monastery in Mae Sai, Thailand for 10 years. According to sources, the coach told the boys to meditate in the cave, keep calm and preserve their energy during the two-week-long ordeal.

Being trapped underground in a blocked-off cave must have been nerve-wracking. On the first, second or third day, panic would have set in and hope would have dwindled. Only a skill like meditation could have given the team the energy to go through this ordeal. Like the rest of the world, we are also jubilant that they have survived. We are sad about the passing of Thai Ex-Navy-Seal Saman Kunan. We are grateful to all the divers, people, and governments, including the Indian government that sent water pumping equipment. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

We believe that even if you do not want to meditate, or do not intend to meditate, or are not able to find the time for meditation just learn it. It will come to your aid whenever needed.                                                                                                         Keep Meditating

The path you pave now is the road for tomorrow

Paving a path means preparing a path easier for something to happen, or somewhere to reach. It often implies clearing obstacles, making progress easier, or creating favourable conditions for a future event or development. If the paved path is uneven and full of concrete. Then when we walk on it, we will stumble, we may even fall. It will definitely slow down our speed and delay in achieving our goal. So it is very necessary to create a smooth path today as this is going to be the road, on which we will drive tomorrow. Meditate to develop a will and determination to create an excellent road to be traversed by many in future.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Keep Meditating

Meditation Under A Tree

Most of us have a strong longing and need for peace in the body, mind, and heart. When we sit in the lap of Grandmother Tree. She is ready to receive us and offer rest and peace.                                                           Trees symbolise wisdom, stability, shelter, growth and the process of renewing. Trees set a beautiful example of gracefully weathering different seasons, including high wind, heavy rain, frost, extreme heat and drought.  When we Meditate under A tree, all these qualities are imbibed in us unknowingly.                                                                                                                                                                                                               Keep Meditating

Enjoy meditation with Plants

Children know no limits no boundaries, and no rules. They can imagine anything. They fantasize to be an astronaut, police, pirates, and so many other characters. The little boy in our infographic wants to be a spiritual plant biologist, so that when he grows up then he can talk to plants freely all the time and find ways to keep them happy and healthy. Meditating with plants transmits calmness and joy. Enjoy the peace, spread by plants and meditation.                                                                                                                                                                       Keep Meditating

Consider meditation too as Karm Yog

Practising Karm Yog means doing our duty without attachment, whether we like our duty or not, we still do our best. Acting in this way diminishes our ego and helps dissolve any sense of separation between self and other. We do our duty without any desire or attachment to the outcome of our actions. It is also believed to purify the mind and it is considered the most virtuous approach to service. Meditation helps in developing this attitude, it also spreads positive vibrations around a meditator.                                                                                                                                                                                           Keep Meditating
