Sri Sri Paramhans Yogananda's original name was Mukund Lal Ghosh. Born in Gorakhpur and studied in Calcutta. He was a yogi and guru who introduced millions to meditation and Kriya yog through his organisations-- SRF in America--- ( Self Realisation Fellowship), and YSS in India---- ( Yogada Satsang Society )
His guru Swami Sri Yukteshwar Giri sent him to spread the teachings of Yoga to the West. He immigrated to America at the age of 27 to prove the unity between Eastern and Western religions and to preach a balance between Western material growth and Indian spirituality. Finally, he settled in Los Angeles and spent the last 32 years of his in America. One of his quotes is as follows.---
